An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual with exceptional analytical and written communication skills to join our IT team as a Technical Business Analyst. Reporting to the Systems Design Manager, the successful candidate will collaborate with both the operational and technical departments transforming requirements into system solutions that fit the needs of the business.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the creation of process analysis, facilitation of workshops, elicitation of requirements, creation of user story documents, creation of technical design documents / technical specifications, strong stakeholder management skills, and experience working with Waterfall, Agile or Kanban development methodologies. The candidate should be a critical thinker, driven to drive continuous improvement, be an effective communicator and a team player, have a natural curiosity with the ability to work on your own initiative, ambitious for personal development and learning, proactive and efficient, with strong interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities- Work in collaboration with Stakeholders, Operational Business Analysts, Developers, Test Analysts gathering requirements and transforming into actionable technical design documents.
- Review and understand User Stories from the Operations team and transform these into actionable technical design documents for the development team, translating business requirements into technical artifacts.
- Use clear communications to liaise with colleagues to understand the specifics surrounding an idea for change and explain options for the system functionality.
- Identify and compare the best processes or delivery methods to use, including measuring and evaluating outcomes.
- Liaise with Line Manager, escalating any challenges with suggested resolutions.
- Meetings with key project members throughout the change control process.
- Creation of documents such as Project Roadmaps, Project Plans, Technical Design Documents, Specifications, Test Scripts, Procedure Documentation, System Manuals.
- Understanding requirements and design solutions to ensure acceptance criteria is met.
- Work with minimal direction to complete tasks and defined outputs linked to the project.
- Identify areas where process and service improvements can be made and develop recommendations.
- Answering queries and reporting to senior staff where appropriate.
- Ensure that project administration is carried to ensure the projects are always kept up to date.
- Assistance with testing, Identify the test scope, create test plans and test cases, execute test cases, document defects and raise with developers.
- Out of hours implementation testing once a week. Out of hours’ time is recorded and given back.
- Excellent analysis skills and logical approach to problem-solving.
- High attention to detail.

- Co-operation and Teamwork: Participates as a team member acting with integrity, creating effective and professional working relationships with colleagues.
- Monitoring and Controlling Progress: Actively monitors the progress of day-to-day work and acts to achieve targets.
- Knowledge of Process: High competence in Microsoft – Visio, PowerPoint, Excel & Word. Knowledge of Azure DevOps or Click Up would be beneficial. Experience in SQL would be beneficial. An understanding of C#, Classic ASP, Java would be beneficial. Knowledge of the mortgage process would be beneficial.
- Communication: Takes on board feedback from the business and communicates feedback to manager where required.
- Planning Own Work: Establish a daily course of action to accomplish day to day work targets.
