One of the UK’s most talked-about law firms is seeking a Marketing and Business Development Assistant to join its award-winning marketing team that plays a key role in raising the firm’s profile and supporting more than 450 lawyers. The team delivers high-impact projects that drive the business forward and offers clear recognition for individual contributions.
This role is ideal for a graduate or graduate-calibre candidate, who is keen to develop a career in marketing and business development with a genuine interest in working within a professional services setting.
About you
You must be confident and professional, and be comfortable liaising with senior professionals from day one, including lawyers and directors of the business. You are someone who thrives under pressure, can manage multiple deadlines through strong organisational skills, and has excellent attention to detail.
Because this role is predominantly remote-based, you must be happy and confident working independently, with a dedicated work area where you can take confidential video calls and liaise throughout the day with other members of the marketing team. You will be required to attend the London office regularly for events and to carry out some of your tasks, so if you would prefer to work from there, that is also possible.
Duties
- Working closely with the Marketing & Business Development Manager and wider team to support the creation of pitches, proposals, presentations, and bespoke marketing materials (including brochures and event invites).
- Assisting with the running of monthly in-person and online training events for lawyers.
- Assisting with the organisation and running of client events at various locations but predominantly London.
- Assisting with the organisation and smooth running of flagship internal events for over 600 people such as the Summer and Christmas parties.
- Updating the events calendar and sharing details of events that would be of interest to others in the firm.
- Managing merchandise stock for events and sourcing new merchandise when required.
- Supporting the team in the onboarding of new lawyers and ensuring all tasks are completed.
- Assisting with legal directory submissions, including Chambers UK, The Legal 500, and others as required.
- Supporting the team with ad hoc tasks as needed.
Ideal applicants will be able to demonstrate
- An interest in, or experience of, marketing and business development within a professional services environment.
- Good presentation, both in person and on the telephone.
- A high standard of written English, with strong spelling and grammar.
- Confidence using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Experience using InDesign is advantageous, but not essential.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- The ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
- A proactive, can-do attitude with strong attention to detail.
- Creative thinking and a willingness to bring new ideas to the table.
