IG Masonry Support, headquartered in Swadlincote, is a leading innovator in the field of bespoke masonry support products. Keyfix specialises in the development of non-combustible cavity trays and masonry accessories, providing the complete non-combustible cavity solution for external masonry facades in projects over 18m.
The Technical Specification Manager provides technical advice and design support in a consultancy role aimed at making the specification process fluid, resulting in an increase of Keystone Group specifications on construction plans and securing future business sales.
Responsibilities and Duties:- Target Architects, Engineers and Technical Teams for Developers and Housing Associations to assist in the specification of The Keystone Group products across IGMS, Keyfix, IG/Keystone Lintels.
- Conduct one-to-one meetings in a professional environment, aiming to attend approximately 8 customer meetings per week with Specifiers.
- Identify new business opportunities by scrutinising planning leads, target lists and other resources across Keyfix, IGMS, IG and Keystone Lintels.
- Promote a positive image of IG Masonry Support, Keyfix and the wider Keystone Group in the marketplace.
- Support the National Specification Manager and wider sales team, working closely with technical teams to ensure the Keystone Group is the preferred technical and commercial solution for target customers.
- Engage with appropriate technical contacts within the customer base, prospect new business and establish relations with those who currently do not interact with the Keystone Group.
- Develop and deliver a CPD programme that ensures Keystone Group products are at the heart of all relevant project specifications and opportunities.
- Collaborate on technical responsibilities and monitor progress of project schedules and customers in conjunction with the engineering technical team.
- Visit technical teams of nominated key accounts and provide feedback on service, support and proposed solutions.
- Ensure specification targets are achieved or exceeded both personally and in support of business objectives.
- Manage targeted campaigns to Architects and Specifiers, working closely with Senior Brand Executives and utilising available marketing content.
- Provide ongoing feedback on successes and areas for continuous improvement and development.
- Liaise closely with relevant colleagues to identify and maximise potential business development opportunities.
- Use LinkedIn to identify customers and increase The Keystone Group brand awareness.
- Produce insight, guidance and reporting to senior management on company goals and KPIs on a monthly basis.
- Maintain up-to-date and relevant records of all projects and their status on Keylink (CRM).
- Attend relevant industry events involving both builders and specifiers.
- Manage personal expenditure to achieve best value at all times and in line with company expectations.
- Perform any other duties as reasonably requested by your line manager and within the job holder's capability.
- Relevant third level qualification or equivalent level of experience within specification or business development.
- A proven record of successful business development & specification with architects and contractors.
- Excellent knowledge of the construction industry and the technical & commercial processes.
- In-depth knowledge of the customer base.
- Commercial awareness and judgment.
- Proven ability to meet goals and challenge competition.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and excellent presentation skills.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to plan work effectively.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel).
- Living close to the area/location/region you will be covering.
- Full, clean (preferable) UK driving licence, with in-date photocard.
