Purpose of the Job: The primary purpose of a Keylite Service Engineer is to ensure the optimal functionality, safety, and longevity of our products. This role encompasses inspecting, maintaining, and repairing roof windows, collaborating with clients to address their specific needs. By combining technical expertise with effective communication and problem-solving skills, the Service Engineer plays a vital role in providing quality service, enhancing customer satisfaction, and contributing to the overall success of Keylite.
Key Responsibilities / Duties:
- Conduct thorough inspections to identify any issues.
- Diagnosing and repairing technical problems and faults promptly and effectively.
- Instil and maintain excellent customer service, whilst managing customer expectations in line with Keylite company policies and procedures.
- Monitoring and maintaining all equipment and tools used.
- Writing reports and presenting findings to Manager on a regular basis.
- Ensure all necessary information is recorded such as serial numbers, images and update the job completion certificates.
- Always promote Health & Safety in the workplace, displaying excellent personal safety and challenging others when unsafe behaviour is observed.
- To assist other engineers when required.
- Overnight stays may be required from time to time to meet customer requirements.
- Promote a positive image of Keylite Roof Windows in the marketplace and internally, acting as a role model to colleagues at all times.
- Liaise with other Keylite departments, ensuring effective cross departmental communication at all times.
- To carry out other tasks as deemed necessary, that are within the job holder’s capability.
Skills & Experience:
- A full clean driving licence is essential, as the role requires extensive travel.
- Working at height training (desirable).
- Experience in field-based servicing.
- Roofing experience (desirable).
- Proven experience in a similar role.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to adapt according to the respective audience (homeowner/merchant/builder).
- Good physical fitness to perform duties requiring manual handling.
- Ability to work at height (ladders, scaffolding).
