This world leading University is looking for an experienced content creator with web management skills. The role is available quickly and will be hybrid (Mondays/Thursdays on site). Experience of student/HE content creation is a distinct advantage. 2 month expected assignment length, 5 days per week. Role purpose: The Student Website and Communications team are responsible for ensuring high-quality and impactful communications with prospective students.
The Student Content Officer plays a critical role in creating engaging and relevant website content for prospective students to support the achievement of the university's student recruitment targets. The role will involve travelling across our university campuses to work closely colleagues in faculties and student support roles, to gather information and case studies to develop content for the university's website and other student facing communications channels.
The role will ensure that content is engaging, accurate and appropriate for the target audience, and ensure content is accessible to other internal colleagues who may be developing student communication materials. Key responsibilities:
- Build and maintain close relationships with faculty and student support colleagues to gather engaging and relevant information and case studies.
- Contribute to the development of digital marketing plans.
- Create and edit accurate web content that is appropriate for the target audience and aligns with the university's branding and communications strategies, ensuring it is accessible to others developing communications materials.
- Develop content for channels other than the website, such as emails and events, or as required by the Head of Student Website and Communications and/or Director of Student Marketing and Communications.
- Use and maintain shared files, content repositories and databases to manage and distribute content. Use the university's Content Management System (CMS) to edit, create and migrate web pages and work with the Web Content Manager to refine our website templates.
- Conduct regular reviews of web content to ensure quality, consistency and compliance with accessibility standards and best practice.
- Address and resolve any content-related issues promptly.
- Work across the Global Student Recruitment and Admissions team to provide content development support to colleagues and ensure successful content delivery.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with communications colleagues within faculties and the central communications directorate.
- Contribute to the development of student marketing and communications strategies. Skills and Experience: Educated to degree level and/or relevant experience in content creation/web content management, preferably in higher education Ability to create and edit engaging and relevant web content, ensuring accuracy and appropriateness. Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrable ability to form and maintain excellent relationships with stakeholders at all levels. Ability to work independently in a fast-changing environment and meet challenging deadlines. Excellent IT and website skills. Strong written and verbal communication Able to work on own initiative, able to identify and resolve issues promptly and/or escalating where required.
