The Learning Technology Assistant will support the effective delivery of digital education processes within the Programme Team of either King's Foundations (1 post) or King's Language Centre (2 posts), while maintaining a strong collaborative link with the central CIEL Digital Education Team. This role focuses on the day-to-day administration of digital learning environments and tools, including user enrolment, assessment setup, attendance tracking, and reading list support.
Working under the guidance of senior colleagues and following established protocols, the postholder will ensure that digital education systems are accurate, accessible, and aligned with institutional standards. They may also contribute to the refinement of administrative processes and documentation. This role is essential in supporting a high-quality, student-centred learning experience while enabling the central team to focus on strategic digital enhancement and innovation.
Digital Education Administration

  • Manage user enrolment processes across KEATS (Moodle) sites for staff and students, ensuring accuracy and timely updates.
  • Set up and maintain assessment submission inboxes and feedback workflows in KEATS.
  • Support the setup and maintenance of online reading lists and ensure they are accessible and up to date.
  • Manage attendance list setup and tracking within KEATS, ensuring accurate records are maintained.
  • Perform basic functionality testing on KEATS pages and troubleshoot common technical issues.
  • Support the configuration and maintenance of KEATS course structures, including meta-linking of modules, template updates, and streamlining of content sections.
  • Assist with enabling access to KEATS and associated tools for external (non-King's) students, ensuring appropriate permissions and user experience. Collaboration and Support
  • Work closely with Programme and Student Experience Teams, as well as the Senior Learning Technology Officer and the Senior Digital Education Manager, to ensure seamless integration of digital education tools into programme delivery.
  • Provide basic technical support for digital tools and platforms (e.g., Turnitin, Gradescope), escalating complex issues as needed.
  • Assist in the creation and delivery of training materials and sessions for staff and students on administrative digital education functions.
  • Liaise regularly with the central CIEL Digital Education Team to receive updates, training, and guidance on best practices.
  • When capacity allows, provide support to Digital Education administrative functions in other CIEL departments to ensure consistency and resilience across the Centre. Quality Assurance and Compliance
  • Support the evaluation and improvement of digital education processes, contributing to quality assurance and feedback mechanisms.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with accessibility standards, GDPR, copyright, data retention, and ethical guidelines.
  • Contribute to the provision of learning analytics and reporting to support programme evaluation and enhancement. Stakeholder Engagement
  • Represent the Programme Team in relevant meetings, providing updates on digital education activities and initiatives.
  • Engage with students and staff to gather feedback and contribute to the continuous improvement of digital education services. Student-Centred Learning
  • Support the delivery of inclusive, accessible, and engaging digital learning experiences.
  • Promote a collaborative and student-focused digital learning environment through effective administrative support. Programme Administration Support
  • Provide support for programme administration activities during peak periods, such as student enrolment, timetable coordination, and processing of transfer or withdrawal requests.
  • Contribute flexibly to wider administrative functions within the Programme Team, supporting a collaborative and responsive service model. Skills and Experience: Essential: Strong technical skills and experience providing administrative support in an education context. Strong organisational and administrative skills. Knowledge of VLEs (e.g., Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas) and their common plug-ins (e.g. Turnitin, Gradescope). Excellent task management and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders. Knowledge of accessibility standards. xohmjla A-level education or above Desirable: Experience working in higher education contexts. Experience with enrolment and attendance processes in a VLE. Familiarity with online assessment and feedback processes
