The People Partnering team is the front face of HR, responsible for working with the Directorates and

Faculties to align our vision and our people. This role reports to the People Partner and is responsible for providing dedicated support within the Estates and Facilities directorate on a full range of people matters. Estates and Facilities is the largest professional services directorate at Kings College London, with a

diverse range of frontline and operational staff covering areas such as cleaning, security, catering,

engineering and campus operations. The HR Manager will manage a team of two HR Advisors and a HRCoordinator and be responsible for managing ER casework and providing HR support to stakeholders across your specific client groups within the directorate. You will need a strong understanding of employment law and best practice as well as the ability to assess risk and act commercially in advising on these matters. Key Responsibilities:

Build strong relationships with stakeholders across your client group, establishing yourself as a trusted partner on people issues. Responsible for formal and informal ER casework across your client group, ensuring the team provide support and guidance to managers at all stages of the process, with risk based and commercial advice. Allocating casework amongst the team, ensuring it is managed in line with university policy and in a robust and timely manner. Leading on complex casework as needed. Manage and coordinate employment tribunal activity, including completion of reports, gathering of data and liaising with legal advisors. Work with the team to provide hands on coaching and support to frontline management, ensuring we build capability in the handling of people issues. Support the People Partner with HR related project work within your client areas and assist with the hands-on implementation of relevant people initiatives. Support processes around organisational change, organisational restructuring and TUPE. Provide consistent HR advice to managers, including on College policies, employment best practice and the application of these to day to day management. Involvement in resolving more complex queries which are escalated from the HR operations team. Analysis of absence and casework data to identify trends and proactive approaches to address challenges. Management and development of HR Advisors and HR Coordinator. Skills and Experience:

Demonstrable experience of managing a range of HR and employee relations issues with a frontline workforce Up to date knowledge of employment law and employment practice, with a sound judgement in HR and ER matters To have experience of the management of multiple types of case work management and advising managers on a full range of employee relations issues Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at a range of different levels Experience of providing an employee relations advice service to stakeholders that balances commerciality, legal risk and the employee experience Well organised, with the ability to prioritise effectively and deal calmly with deadlines and competing priorities Ability to work effectively with HR data, to run reports and look for patterns and insights.
