We are seeking an exceptional Specialist Clinical Manager (RGN) to lead and elevate the clinical function within this high-acuity neuro rehabilitation environment. This specialist Neuro Complex Care service supports individuals with high nursing needs, Acquired Brain Injury, and a wide range of complex neurological conditions. A dedicated team of registered nurses, support workers, and in-house therapists deliver integrated, outcome-driven care that blends neuro-rehabilitation with clinical complexity.
Working closely and reporting directly to the Registered Manager, you will oversee all clinical operations, strengthen clinical practice, and support the development of a high-performing nursing team. The service achieved Good across all KLOEs and is now focused on growth, reputation enhancement, and clinical excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Clinical Leadership - Lead, mentor, and develop the nursing team, embedding a culture of high-end, evidence-based clinical practice.
- Complex Respiratory & Critical Care Oversight - Provide expert leadership in tracheostomy care, deep suctioning, ventilation support, and management of complex respiratory needs.
- Neuro-Rehabilitation Excellence - Ensure clinical pathways support recovery, independence, and measurable rehabilitation outcomes.
- Governance & Quality Improvement - Drive continuous improvement, maintain compliance, and support the service in achieving higher CQC ratings.
- MDT Collaboration - Work closely with psychology, speech and language therapy, physiotherapy, and occupational therapy to deliver cohesive, person-centred care.
- Service Development & Reputation Building - Support strategic initiatives to enhance the service's profile, increase occupancy, and strengthen referral pathways.
- Competency Frameworks - Lead on clinical training, competency assessments, and professional development for the nursing team.
- Risk & Safety Management - Ensure robust clinical risk assessments, incident reviews, and safe systems of work.
- Registered General Nurse (RGN) with active NMC registration.
- Experience in neuro-rehabilitation, critical care, respiratory care, or other high-acuity clinical environments.
- Proven leadership experience.
- Strong understanding of CQC standards and clinical governance.
- Ability to inspire, coach, and develop a diverse clinical workforce.
- Confident working within a multidisciplinary environment including psychology, SALT, and therapy teams.
- Post-registration qualifications in critical care, neuro-rehabilitation, or respiratory care.
- Experience in service development, reputation building, or occupancy growth.
- Understanding of commissioning pathways for neuro-rehab and complex care.
