Step into a pivotal interim leadership role with one of our clients, an established elderly residential care home (non-nursing) in Reading, at a time of significant change and improvement. This is a hands-on contract position where your expertise in regulatory compliance, CQC standards, and management experience will have an immediate and measurable impact on service quality and resident outcomes.
About the Role: You will take operational leadership of the service while driving targeted improvements in quality, safety, and resident experience. Working closely with the provider and existing team, you will ensure full compliance with CQC standards, embed robust governance, and implement sustainable changes. Your focus will be on delivering a safe, person-centred environment while supporting and developing the staff team through a period of transition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day operational leadership of the residential care home, ensuring safe, person-centred care for all residents.
- Lead and coordinate responses to any immediate crises or incidents, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication with all stakeholders.
- Review and strengthen policies, procedures, and care documentation to ensure regulatory compliance and consistent practice.
- Prepare for and oversee CQC inspections and local authority quality monitoring, ensuring evidence and action plans are in place.
- Monitor key quality and operational metrics, reporting progress to the provider and recommending further improvements.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in a leadership or management role within elderly residential care or similar adult social care settings.
- Strong working knowledge of CQC regulations, KLOEs, and current adult social care legislation.
- Demonstrable track record of leading service improvement and change management in a regulated care environment.
- Previous experience as an Interim Manager or Turnaround Manager in elderly residential care.
