About the Role
As General Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the safe, effective and person‑centred running of a luxury residential care home, specialising in elderly and dementia care. You will lead and develop a multidisciplinary team, ensure full CQC compliance, and uphold the highest standards. Your leadership will directly influence resident outcomes, family satisfaction, and the home’s reputation in the local community.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the delivery of high‑quality, person‑centred care for elderly residents, including those living with dementia.
- Maintain full CQC compliance, preparing for inspections, implementing action plans, and embedding regulatory standards across the service.
- Lead, motivate and develop the care, nursing, hospitality and administration teams to achieve consistently high performance.
- Oversee occupancy, private fee management and commercial performance, ensuring the home meets agreed financial and business targets.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with residents, families, external professionals and the wider community to enhance the home’s profile.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience as a Registered Manager, Home Manager or General Manager within a residential or nursing care home setting.
- Strong track record of managing services for elderly residents, including significant exposure to dementia care.
- In‑depth understanding of CQC regulations, safeguarding, MCA/DoLS and relevant care home legislation.
- Confident in managing budgets, occupancy levels and commercial targets in a private care setting.
Desirable Skills
- Experience of commissioning or opening new build or newly refurbished care homes.
- Background in luxury or premium private care services.
- Proven success in community engagement and marketing to drive private occupancy.
