We are seeking an experienced Leasehold Consultant to support a housing provider on a strategic improvement project across two retirement living schemes. This is a unique opportunity for a leasehold specialist to review current operations, identify areas for improvement, and create the policies, processes, and frameworks required to support long-term service excellence. The organisation has strong legal and operational teams in place and is looking for an experienced professional to provide specialist leasehold expertise and help shape the future operating model.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review existing leasehold operations and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Develop and implement leasehold policies, procedures, and best practice frameworks
  • Create strategic recommendations and business cases to support service development
  • Assess governance, compliance, resident engagement, and operational processes
  • Work collaboratively with housing, legal, and leadership teams
  • Provide specialist guidance on leasehold management, service charges, and related processes
  • Support the development of a sustainable operating model for ongoing management by operational teams

Requirements

  • Proven experience within leasehold management, ideally within retirement living, later living, or specialist housing environments
  • Strong knowledge of service charges, leasehold operations, managing agents, and Section 20 consultation processes
  • Experience developing policies, procedures, and governance frameworks
  • Ability to review services, identify risks and opportunities, and deliver practical recommendations
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Experience producing reports, strategies, and business cases for senior leadership teams
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage a project independently
