Knowledge Engineers (KEs) collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, R&D, Order Fulfillment, and Order Management to design scalable product structures and configuration solutions that enable fast, accurate and precise quoting and ordering of complex products.
KEs are responsible for the generation of accurate product quotes and orders for customers, making the experience both quick and efficient.
KEs ensure that product configuration complexity is hidden using logical rules to display only relevant product selections and feature information in compliance with product specifications and Keysight Standards, guiding Keysight customers, sales representatives, and field engineers through product feature selection and configuration.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and continuously enhance intelligent Logik. AI configuration logic and rules that power seamless product experiences.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Marketing, R&D, NPI Teams, Order Fulfillment, and Order Management to build scalable product structures and configuration solutions.
- Ensure quick, accurate, and efficient quoting and ordering for complex products by generating precise product quotes and orders.
- Elegantly simplify product complexity for users by crafting sophisticated logical rules that surface only the most relevant selections and features, ensuring compliance with product specifications and industry standards.
- Empower customers, sales representatives, and field engineers to confidently navigate product feature selection and configuration, ensuring their success at every touchpoint.
- Technical Experience
- Experience with JSON or YAML.
- Familiarity with SQL for troubleshooting, reporting, and data analysis; Python knowledge is a plus for automation and testing.
- Ability to build product models with attributes, constraints, and dependencies.
- Define configuration and compatibility rules, including option dependencies and mandatory/exclusion selections.
- Implement dynamic configuration logic for guided selling.
- Develop and refine configurator UI, including layout and component adjustments.
- Experience in providing technical support for system end‑users (and user roles) such as customers, sales reps, partners, and internal users.
- Mapping product structures for configuration across systems.
- Ensuring quote, order, and pricing data consistency.
- Leverage ATO, CTO, and PTO component configurations to support downstream supply chain strategies.
- Experience with platforms including Salesforce, Oracle EBS, Oracle CPQ, Logik. AI or Oracle Cloud is a plus.
- Data Modeling & Business Logic Skills
- Translate business requirements into logical rules.
- Clean and normalize product data, manage complex product variants.
- Balance configurability with system performance.
- Background in Configure‑Price‑Quote platforms, product catalog management, or rules‑based systems is preferred.
- Testing, Quality, and Deployment
- Comfortable with unit, scenario‑based, and regression testing.
- Troubleshoot configuration rules (debug) & resolve issues with quotes/orders efficiently.
- Experience Promote changes through development and production environments (sandbox → staging → production).
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies for collaborative, iterative development.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to clarify ambiguous requirements, explain technical trade‑offs to technical and non‑technical stakeholders, and work closely with cross functional teams across geographies.
- Strong analytical and diagnostic abilities.
- Deep understanding of product offerings and system‑level thinking.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience demonstrating advanced technical expertise.
