As a Software Engineer in our Aerospace and Defense Custom Solutions (ADCS) group, you will work as part of a highly talented and passionate multi-discipline team that develops and delivers world-class custom test solutions. ADCS Edinburgh exists primarily to serve European customers. We operate as part of a worldwide team with headquarters in Loveland, Colorado. We work with customers on a wide variety of technologies primarily in the Radar, Electronic Warfare, and Satellite domains.
Responsibilities
- You are a motivated and curious undergraduate currently in your penultimate year of study in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related technical discipline.
- You have a strong foundation in programming, digital and RF systems, and you’re keen to apply these skills to real-world, mission‑critical aerospace and defense challenges.
- You enjoy solving complex technical problems and learning how hardware and software interact within embedded, RF and automated test systems.
- You bring a hands‑on, analytical mindset to everything you do.
- You are enthusiastic about working in a multidisciplinary engineering environment, collaborating with experts in software, electronics, RF interfacing and measurements, and system architecture.
- You communicate clearly, ask thoughtful questions, and take ownership of your work.
- You are excited by the opportunity to contribute to the work our team does, gaining hands‑on industry experience while supporting real customer programs and learning how high‑performance custom test systems are built, tested, and delivered.
Due to the sensitive nature of our work, UK security clearance at SC level is required. Applicants must have lived in the UK for at least 5 years. You should also have Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) or settled status.
Qualifications
- You’re comfortable working with modern software development practices and are eager to develop your skills in areas such as: C, C++, C#, Python or similar programming languages.
- Embedded or real‑time software.
- Linux or Windows development environments.
- Version control tools (e.g., Git).
- Hardware-software integration, test automation, or system verification.
