To plan and deliver high-quality, inclusive teaching that meets the diverse needs of pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviours. We are delighted to welcome you to Sunny Hill School, which will shortly be opening as a PMLD School. We are a small school that effectively supports children through their educational journey. We are seeking staff members that are looking for a dynamic and forward-thinking team where we can shape the next phase of our journey and bring strategic clarity, energy, and vision to our school.

We support a vast array of students who have learning difficulties affecting their learning, communication, and daily life. We are committed to ensuring that all students learn and are engaged in the appropriate programme of study, allowing them to successfully engage with education and achieve their very best outcomes. From September 2026, we aim to increase student intake numbers!

Key Responsibilities

• The role focuses on planning and delivering personalised learning experiences that meet the diverse needs of pupils with communication differences, sensory processing needs, and complex and severe learning needs.
• Help students develop confidence, independence, and encourage them to learn, adapting teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of all pupils.
• Collaborative working with families and professionals to support children's progress.
• Set high expectations which inspire, motivate, and challenge pupils.
• Lead a team and provide clear guidance to Teaching Assistants.
• Help to disseminate good practice across the school.

Requirements

• A committed and passionate view of students with SEND and PMLD.
• Create a safe, nurturing environment where pupils feel understood and empowered to explore, communicate, and thrive.
• At least two years’ experience minimum of working in a SEND and/or PMLD/SLD unit/provision.
• QTS/QTLS is a requirement.
