We are looking for a children's support worker to become part of our loving, fun and busy family home, supporting young people aged 5 - 18.

You would be the person to give encouragement and praise when needed, to be patient and understanding during times of crisis and to inspire them to grow and develop.

Passionate about supporting children to lead happy lives.

Great communication skills, positive, playful and energetic.

Experience in working with children in care or transferable skills such as children's nursery, adult supported living, challenging behaviours, education, sports or working with vulnerable people is beneficial.

Ability to remain calm during sometimes challenging situations.

Full UK Driving licence is beneficial.

You need to be able to work flexibly in caring for the children.

This will include working shifts and sleep‑ins.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide encouragement and praise when needed.
  • Be patient and understanding during times of crisis.
  • Inspire children to grow and develop.
  • Act as a professional parent, giving emotional and physical support to allow the children to reach their full potential in sometimes challenging situations.
  • Build friendships and trustful relationships.
  • Help children find pleasure in everyday tasks.
  • Empower them to make decisions about themselves.
  • Ensure a safe home environment – cleaning, laundry and cooking are part of the job.
  • Participate in fun days out such as fishing, ice skating, bowling and trampolining, and revisit missed milestones.
  • Work flexibly, including shifts and sleep‑ins.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience working with children in care or transferable skills in nursery, adult supported living, challenging behaviours, education, sports or with vulnerable people.
  • Demonstrated ability to remain calm during challenging situations.
  • Full UK driving licence is beneficial.
  • Strong communication skills, positive, playful and energetic.
  • Enhanced DBS check will be required.
