Overview

Senior Support Worker – Children’s Homes. A minimum of 12 months Children’s home experience and a Level 3 Residential Child Care qualification. Location: Lytham St Annes. Salary: £27,580 per annum plus an additional £3k–£6k per year for sleep-ins (4–8 sleep-ins per month at £62.64 each). Hours: Full-time long day shifts plus sleep-ins. Full UK driving licence essential.

About the role

We are looking for a qualified, resilient and nurturing Children\’s Senior Support Worker to join our family home, caring for children who may have complex emotional and behavioural needs. You will encourage and praise when needed, be patient and understanding during times of crisis, and bring passion and knowledge to inspire the team to achieve the best outcomes for every child. We value activity and fun, including bike riding and an outgoing, active approach.

What you need

  • A minimum of 12 months Children’s home experience and a Level 3 qualification in residential childcare (recognised in your hourly pay rate).
  • Experience or knowledge of child-centred, therapeutic models.
  • Excellent communication skills, naturally caring, flexible and resilient.
  • Ability to work flexibly in caring for the children, including shifts and sleep-ins; full-time and part-time hours available.
  • Full UK Driving licence required.

You will work with the team to promote and support the young people in our care in leading a life of positive development by providing a safe and nurturing environment. Ensure day-to-day management is facilitated professionally, and support the Service Manager in delivering high-quality care. Lead a team alongside other professionals to provide the therapeutic care and support needed for each child. Record events and observations, progress reports, and prepare/implement care plans and records. Act as a positive role model to colleagues and children, developing trusting relationships that foster recovery, growth and lasting change.
