Overview
Job Title: Children’s Residential Support Worker – complex care
Location: Southampton
Salary: Starting from £27,580 per annum PLUS an additional £62.64 per sleep in
Hours: Full-time, 39 hours per week working a shift pattern which includes long days and sleep ins.
Personal care is required as part of this role.
Full UK Drivers licence is required

What do you need?
- Experience in care such as adult LD, SEN education, medical or nursing care, elderly care or working with vulnerable people is essential
- We want people who are naturally caring, flexible and resilient
- Passionate about supporting children to lead happy lives
- Physically able to lift and use hoists, manual handling is part of this job
- Great communication skills, positive and energetic
- Ability to remain calm during sometimes challenging situations
- Full UK Driving licence is beneficial
- You need to be able to work flexibly in caring for the children. This will include working shifts and sleep-ins
What does the job involve?
- Be part of a caring team that provides a safe and loving home for children, led and supported by a registered manager
- Act as a professional parent, to give encouragement and praise
- Provide emotional and physical support to allow the children to reach their full potential in sometimes challenging situations
- Provide medical support which includes physio routines, medication, peg feeding, moving and handling, hoists and lifting equipment
- Build friendships and trusting relationships
- Help them to find pleasure in everyday tasks
- Ensure a safe home environment, cleaning, laundry, cooking is part of the job
