We’re looking for an experienced Registered Manager within Children’s Residential Care who brings more than just experience – someone who leads with integrity, humility, and a deep understanding of what outstanding care truly looks like. You’ll be overseeing the operations of our EBD home in Shrewsbury. This service supports Children and Young People with complex needs.

Your Role as a Registered Manager

  • Lead with vision, compassion and integrity, ensuring children receive outstanding care, support and guidance tailored to their individual needs.
  • Be the voice and advocate for both your team and the children, creating a home where safety, respect and aspirations thrive.
  • Empower your team to deliver therapeutic, child-centred care that leads to real, lasting outcomes.
  • Build a home culture that is warm, inclusive, and resilient, where young people feel safe, valued and inspired.
  • Oversee all operational aspects, including safeguarding, care planning, compliance, and team development.
  • Mentor and develop staff, cultivating future leaders through coaching, supervision and training (including QCF Level 3 facilitation).
  • Lead service development, budget management and continuous improvement across all areas of home performance.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience working within a similar environment at a Senior level.
  • Level 3 or 4 in Children and Young Peoples workforce.
  • Achieved or working towards Level 5 Diploma in leadership for Health and Social Care services (Children and Young Peoples management qualification).
  • Strong knowledge of legislation and safeguarding procedures such as The Children Act 1989, Children’s home regulations.
  • Experience of budgets and financial management.
  • Full driving licence is essential.
  • Ability to work flexibly and carry out on-call duties.
