Play a key leadership role in ensuring high-quality, safe and effective education provision for children and young people across your designated area. Keys Inclusion Pathway is seeking an experienced and values-driven Area Education Manager to provide strategic and operational oversight of tutoring provision, staff performance and stakeholder relationships. This role is central to maintaining high standards of quality, safeguarding and commissioning confidence while supporting tutors and education staff to deliver positive outcomes for learners.

Working closely with Progress Coordinators, tutors, safeguarding teams, commissioners and senior leaders, you will ensure provision is compliant, responsive and continuously improving.

The Role

  • Maintain oversight of the quality, consistency and safety of tutoring provision across the area.
  • Ensure provision meets learner needs, commissioning expectations and statutory requirements.
  • Monitor learner engagement and progress through collaboration with Progress Coordinators and other staff.
  • Maintain oversight of safeguarding and wellbeing concerns, escalating appropriately where required.
  • Act as a key point of contact for commissioners and referrers, building strong, professional partnerships.
  • Provide progress updates, assurance and required compliance documentation to external stakeholders.
  • Line manage tutors and local education staff, setting targets and supporting performance and development.
  • Support staff with day-to-day guidance and respond to complex or escalated issues.
  • Lead on addressing concerns about provision, including structured improvement planning where needed.
  • Respond to complaints and conduct investigations in line with company policy and HR guidance.
  • Communicate outcomes of investigations and oversee implementation of agreed improvements.
  • Maintain oversight of high-profile or complex cases, liaising with families, referrers and professionals.
  • Contribute to accountability processes, including data returns, quality assurance and area development.
  • Use data and insight to inform service improvement, training needs and resourcing decisions.
  • Support local recruitment activity and the organisation of training or face-to-face tutor events.

Working Pattern & Salary

  • 40 hours per week.
  • Term time plus 3 additional weeks.
  • Hybrid role – home-based with travel across the designated area.
  • Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience.
  • Travel is required as part of the role.

Requirements

Essential

  • Experience of the UK education system and curriculum.
  • Experience working with young people with SEND or outside mainstream education.
  • Strong leadership and management experience, including line management.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and legislation.
  • Knowledge of GDPR and confidentiality requirements.
  • Highly organised, resilient and able to manage competing priorities.
  • Willingness to travel.

Desirable

  • Honours degree.
  • Qualified Teacher Status.
  • Experience as a Safeguarding Lead.
  • Experience supporting colleague development and quality improvement activity.
