Overview

Just off the main road in Rhyd Y Fro, a small village just outside Pontardawe. The home supports 7 Gentlemen with a variety of needs including brain injury, autism and learning disability. We offer a calm environment that supports people to maintain intendant living skills such as cooking and cleaning; some may require more help than others at times. Glan Y Felin is a lovely place to work with long serving knowledgeable staff. The individuals like to go out into the community to do various things like visiting local pub, trips to Cardiff/Swansea, attending football matches, cinema, bowling, coffees and eating out.

As a Support Worker, you will be involved in the day to day support and routine of the people within the service including:

  • Day-to-day support and routine of the people we support.
  • Prompting independence whilst helping them live a fulfilling life.
  • Supporting & encouraging the development of personal skills through hobbies and interests.
  • Maintaining and helping with health care needs, including accompanying the people we support to routine appointments or administering medication.
  • Teaching life skills such as budgeting, paying bills & shopping.
  • Assisting with personal care as required.
  • Assisting with domestic tasks including cleaning & cooking.
  • Providing guidance & encouragement through physical & emotional support.

Experience within the care sector is not needed as we offer full training, coaching and development.
