The predicted salary is between 20000 - 25000 £ per year.

We are looking for a children's support worker to become part of our loving family home, caring for younger children who sometimes have emotional and behavioural difficulties.

You would be the person to give encouragement and praise when needed, to be patient and understanding during times of crisis and to inspire them to grow and develop.

The role can be emotionally challenging, but you may be the person who changes a child's life for the better.

We want people who are naturally caring, flexible and resilient, passionate about supporting children to lead happy lives, with great communication skills, positive and energetic.

Experience in care or transferable skills such as children's nursery, education, sports or working with vulnerable people is beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Be part of a caring team that provides a safe and loving home for children, led and supported by a registered manager.
  • Act as a professional parent, giving encouragement and praise.
  • Enjoy fun days out such as fishing, ice skating, bowling and trampolining and revisit missed milestones.
  • Provide emotional and physical support to allow the children to reach their full potential in sometimes challenging situations.
  • Build friendships and trusting relationships.
  • Help them find pleasure in everyday tasks.
  • Empower them to make decisions about themselves.
  • Ensure a safe home environment; cleaning, laundry and cooking are part of the job.

Qualifications

  • Experience or transferable skills in childcare, education, sports, or working with vulnerable people.
  • Ability to remain calm during challenging situations and work flexibly, including shifts and sleep‑ins.
  • Enhanced DBS check required.
