Education Mentor – Alternative Provision

£15 - £35 per hour | Newcastle | Flexible hours

Do you want to make a real difference working one-to-one with young people outside of the classroom? Must have experience of UK curriculum, ability to travel, own a suitable vehicle with business insurance and breakdown cover, and have a minimum of two days' availability per week. A First Aid qualification is also desirable.

Keys Inclusion Pathway is recruiting Tutors, Teachers, HLTAs and experienced education professionals to deliver personalised learning to children and young people who cannot access mainstream education.

About the Role

You will work one-to-one with pupils in:

  • Quiet community settings
  • Alternative education environments

You’ll create and deliver bespoke learning plans tailored to each young person's academic level, emotional needs, and learning style. This is a highly rewarding role where relationship‑building is just as important as teaching. This is a self‑employed, term‑time role with flexible scheduling.

Who We Support

Our pupils range from Key Stage 1 to GCSE level and may have:

  • SEMH needs
  • Autism (ASD)
  • ADHD
  • Anxiety, school refusal, or exclusion histories

They need patient, adaptable adults who believe in second chances and small wins.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children or young people
  • Knowledge of the UK curriculum
  • Minimum 2 days availability per week
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (business insurance required)
  • Right to work in the UK

Desirable:

  • QTS
  • HLTA
  • SEN experience
  • First Aid
