Overview
As an Education Mentor you will deliver personalised one‑to‑one tuition in English, Maths, and life skills to young people aged 5–16 who are excluded, at risk of exclusion, or unable to access mainstream education.
You will plan and adapt lesson plans, build trusting relationships, and support learners to re‑engage, build confidence, and achieve progress.
Responsibilities
- Deliver tailored, one‑to‑one sessions in English, Maths, and life skills.
- Plan and adapt personalised lessons to suit individual learner needs.
- Build positive, trusting relationships to support engagement and growth.
- Deliver sessions in quiet community settings or students’ homes.
- Work flexibly with a schedule that fits your availability.
- Travel across local areas to deliver sessions.

Qualifications and Experience
- Experience delivering the UK curriculum.
- Strong behaviour management and differentiation skills.
- Understanding of SEN, including ASD, ADHD and mental health needs.
- Experience working with SEN and/or SEMH learners.
- Minimum availability of 2 days per week.
- Full UK driving licence with own vehicle, business insurance and breakdown cover.
- First Aid qualification (desirable).
- Patient, resilient and resourceful approach.

- Pay: £15–£35 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
- Location: Thetford/Diss – Face‑to‑face delivery in homes and community settings.
- Working pattern: Flexible, term‑time only; minimum 2 days per week.
