As we continue to grow and welcome a new cohort of learners, we're expanding our team of Education Mentors. If you're passionate about supporting learner growth, inspiring progress, and making a real impact from the very start of the new term, we'd love to hear from you! We provide high‑quality, personalised 1:1 tuition for young people aged 5‑16 who can't access mainstream education. Our mission is to create measurable, life‑changing impact for those who need it most.

1:1 Tutor Roles Across Colchester. Work flexibly. Build real relationships. See genuine progress. You'll deliver tailored sessions in English, Maths and life skills in a quiet community setting or in a young person's home. With no classroom distractions, you'll have the space to form strong, positive connections and truly personalise learning.

We're Looking For:

  • Qualified & Unqualified Teachers
  • HLTAs & Experienced Tutors
  • QTS / QTLS Teachers seeking a rewarding change
  • Professionals with SEN & SEMH experience, 1:1 personalised lesson planning

Term‑time only 0 Hour contract (paid for timetabled hours) Flexible scheduling to suit your availability. Travel required across local authorities.

Young people we support:

  • Excluded or at risk of exclusion
  • School refusers
  • Experiencing disruption due to health or home circumstances
  • At risk of entering the criminal justice system

Experience of the UK curriculum

  • Strong behaviour management & differentiation skills
  • Understanding of SEN, ASD, ADHD & Mental Health
  • A patient, resilient and resourceful approach
  • Minimum two days' availability per week
  • Ability to travel (full UK driving licence, own vehicle with business insurance & breakdown cover)
  • First Aid qualification (desirable)

Most importantly – warmth, humour, and a belief that every young person deserves success. The pay rate is between £16.44 – £20.83 per hour, and is determined individually on a case‑by‑case basis, taking into account relevant qualifications and experience.
