This role is based in Whitchurch, Shropshire (SY13).
Salary: £13.60 - £14.20* per hour / £27,258 - £28,797* per annum
Hours: 39 hours per week (including overnights) £62.64 per sleep-in (working approx. 4-8 sleep ins per month, additional earnings from £3,000 to £6,000 per annum)

- A full, valid UK driver’s licence is required
- Applicants must be at least 21 years of age to work with vulnerable children
- Experience preferred in child or health care, with a focus on working with vulnerable children
About the Role:
In this vital and varied role, you will provide individualised care and support to the children and young people living in our homes. You’ll build trusting relationships, help them feel safe, valued, and understood—while encouraging their growth and independence every step of the way.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Supporting children and young people with their emotional, physical, and social needs
- Accompanying them to appointments, school, and fun activities
- Delivering personal care and helping with daily routines
- Supporting with household tasks and maintaining a safe, nurturing environment
- Completing accurate, clear documentation and reports
- Always promoting their wellbeing and safeguarding them
What are we looking for?
- NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or an equivalent or higher qualification specifically in Residential Childcare) is essential
- We want people who are naturally caring, flexible and resilient
- Great communication skills, positive and energetic
- Ability to remain calm in sometimes challenging situations
- A positive role model, wanting to spend time to encourage and build relationships
- Able to share interests with our young people
- You need to be able to work flexibly in caring for the children, including working shifts and sleep-ins
