As an Alarm Response Officer, you will serve as the primary physical responder to automated intruder, fire, panic, and environmental alarms across our North London commercial and residential portfolio. You will perform rapid-deployment site inspections and manage live-breach incidents securely, acting as the critical link between the client, our control room, and emergency services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Rapid Incident Response: Deploy immediately upon dispatch from the control room to investigate commercial and residential alarm activations across North London.
  • Key-holding & Access Management: Safely transport and utilise client keys and digital access tokens to enter premises, following strict custody protocols.
  • Perimeter & Interior Patrols: Conduct thorough, vigilant physical inspections of properties to detect signs of forced entry, vandalism, fire, or structural damage.
  • Emergency Liaison: De-escalate security threats, secure breached perimeters, and liaise directly with the Metropolitan Police, London Fire Brigade, or client key-holders.
  • System Resetting & Reporting: Reset alarm panels, secure properties following an incident, and complete highly detailed, digital incident reports via the company mobile app before leaving the site.
  • Visual Deterrence: Execute scheduled, random mobile patrol visits to high-profile sites to maintain a highly visible security presence.

Mandatory Candidate Requirements

  • Professional Licensing: Must hold a valid, active SIA Frontline Licence (Door Supervisor or Security Guarding). An additional SIA CCTV (Public Space Surveillance) Licence is highly advantageous.
  • Security Screening & Vetting Compliance (BS7858:2019): Employment is strictly subject to satisfactory pre-employment screening and background checks in accordance with BS7858:2019 (Code of Practice for Security Screening). Candidates must provide a comprehensive, uninterrupted 5-year history covering employment, self-employment, education, or periods of unemployment. History gaps exceeding 31 days must be independently verifiable. Must possess valid, restriction-free proof of UK Right to Work and current address verification. Subject to a clean Basic DBS (Criminal Record) disclosure check. Subject to a Financial Probity (Credit) Check to screen for active bankruptcies, corporate risk, or major unresolved County Court Judgments (CCJs).
  • Driving & Fleet Requirements: Due to the nature of rapid alarm response across North London, candidates must own a personal car and hold a Full UK Driving Licence (manual) for a minimum of 2 years, with no more than 6 active penalty points. Convictions for major driving offences (e.g., IN10, DR10, DD10) will automatically invalidate fleet application insurance clearance.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Geographical Knowledge: Excellent familiarity with North London road networks, traffic patterns, and arterial routes (A1, A406, M1 corridors).
  • Technology Literacy: Proficient in using smartphones, GPS navigation apps, and digital logging/reporting software.
  • Communication: Fluent spoken and written English, with the ability to write clear, objective, and legally robust incident logs.
  • Temperament: Calm under pressure, highly decisive, and confident working in a solo, dynamic field environment during unsociable hours.
