About the role:

We’re looking for a full time Mobile Maintenance Operative to help maintain our growing portfolio of Care Homes, Schools, and Residential Homes for both Children and Adults. You’ll be responsible for a variety of general repair and maintenance tasks, including fixing fire doors, patching walls, minor plumbing, and other day-to-day upkeep. Larger or specialist jobs will be handled by local contractors. You’ll manage your own workload, work independently, and be supported by a friendly team along with the Facilities Manager and Head of Facilities. You’ll also work closely with Home Managers to help prioritise and plan tasks on site.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the services exterior are maintained to include, gardening, painting, general tidiness, basic repairs, etc.
  • Carry out any internal decorating to a high standard.
  • General repairs to be completed to a high standard.
  • Supervision of external contractors when required.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance as and when it arises including boarding up windows, replacing locks, etc.
  • Assist the operational staff where required / directed to do so to move furniture, etc.
  • Manage allocated monthly spend.
  • Working quickly, effectively and prioritise allocated maintenance requests.
  • Carpentry, i.e. door hanging, frame fitting, putting up shelves, boarding up windows, doors and minor furniture repairs.
  • Minor plumbing repairs i.e. replacing taps, repair minor leaks, replacement of TRVs, etc.
  • Maintain the company van as per the Fleet policy (not to be used for personal use).
  • To complete Trackplan timesheets, document materials used and update daily.
  • To maintain tools (to be provided) and ensure that the inventory is maintained.
  • To attend training courses, meetings, etc when required.

About you:

A full UK driving licence is required as you'll travel between sites. A company van, fuel card, phone, and tools will be provided. 40hrs p/w, 8:30am–5:30pm, starting from arrival at your first site. All sites will be within an hour’s drive from your home. Experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential. You must have at least one year of experience in joinery, carpentry, and general maintenance. Knowledge of PPE, asbestos, and regulations is also desirable. Highlighting your experience will strengthen your application.

Due to the nature of the role, it is necessary for the appropriate level of criminal record disclosure to be undertaken (DBS).
