Note: We require a Male Support Worker over the age of 18 due to a genuine occupational requirement for the people we are supporting, making this position exempt from the gender discrimination rule.

About Glan Y Felin: Just off the main road in Rhyd Y Fro, a small village just outside Pontardawe. The home supports 7 men with a variety of needs including brain injury, autism and learning disability. We offer a calm environment that supports people to maintain intended living skills such as cooking and cleaning; some may require more help than others at times.

As a Support Worker, you will be involved in the day-to-day support and routine of the people within the service including:

  • Day-to-day support and routine of the people we support.
  • Prompting independence whilst helping them live a fulfilling life.
  • Supporting and encouraging the development of personal skills through hobbies and interests.
  • Maintaining and helping with health care needs, including accompanying the people we support to routine appointments or administering medication.
  • Teaching life skills such as budgeting, paying bills & shopping.
  • Assisting with personal care as required.
  • Assisting with domestic tasks including cleaning & cooking.
  • Providing guidance and encouragement through physical and emotional support.
