Acorns Ashley School is a co-educational school that provides a supportive and personalised education programme for pupils aged between 5-17. The school caters for pupils with complex educational needs, communication difficulties, and challenging behaviour. It supports pupils with social, emotional, and mental wellbeing needs. Additionally, many of our pupils present with significant social and communication difficulties influenced by trauma or complex emotional difficulties. The school prides itself on providing specialised interventions compared to those provided in a mainstream school.

Key Responsibilities:
  • We are looking for a qualified English Teacher that can help students with a range of special educational needs within Key Stage 3.
  • As an English Teacher, you must help and support each individual as needed.
  • You will also set, mark, and give feedback on English assignments, tests, and homework, as part of the continuous assessment of each pupil.
  • Enable pupils to gain a good command of both spoken and written language, equipping them with the ability to express themselves and their ideas in a variety of situations.
Requirements:
  • A committed and passionate view of students with SEND.
  • At least two years’ experience minimum of working in a SEND environment or similar unit/provision.
  • QTS/QTLS is a requirement.
