Please note we require a Female Support Worker over the age of 18 due to a genuine occupational requirement for the people we are supporting. This position is exempt from the gender discrimination rule.
About Blackwells: Blackwells is a residential and supported living service based in Hereford, providing support for people with Learning Disabilities, Autism and/or Mental Health needs. The residential home supports up to 7 adults.
As a Support Worker, you will be involved in the day to day support and routine of the people within the service including:
- Prompting service users independence whilst helping them live a fulfilling life
- Supporting & encouraging the development of personal skills through hobbies and interests
- Maintaining and helping with health care needs, including accompanying service users to routine appointments or administering medication
- Teaching life skills such as budgeting, paying bills & shopping
- Assisting with personal care (depending on service user)
- Assisting with domestic tasks including cleaning & cooking
Experience within the care sector is not essential as we offer full training. However, enthusiasm and commitment to live our company values every day are essential.
