Role Purpose
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the organisation’s approach to data protection and transparency on a 3 month fixed term basis. You will provide vital administrative and operational support in the handling of Subject Access Requests (SARs) and other disclosures under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Working as part of a collaborative team, you will help ensure requests are managed efficiently, accurately, and within required timescales, contributing to a high standard of compliance and service delivery. This role offers the chance to develop your knowledge of data protection while making a meaningful impact on how the organisation responds to individuals’ rights.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the end-to-end handling of Subject Access Requests (SARs) and other such requests (e.g. rectification, erasure, court orders)
- Collate, review, and organise information for disclosure
- Apply redactions in line with data protection principles and guidance
- Maintain accurate records of requests and outcomes for audit purposes
- Support escalation of complex or high-risk cases to the Data Protection Officer
- Ensure all activities are carried out in line with internal policies and UK GDPR requirements
Requirements (Essential)
- Minimum 1 year experience handling Subject Access Requests and similar data disclosure processes
- Understanding of data protection principles (UK GDPR / Data Protection Act 2018)
