We are looking for a children's support worker to become part of our family home, caring for young people who have sometimes complex emotional difficulties. You would be the person to give encouragement and praise when needed, to be patient and understanding during times of crisis and to inspire them to grow and develop. The role can be emotionally challenging and you could be handling difficult situations but you could be the person to change a life for the better.
As a therapeutic support worker you will:
- Be part of a caring team that provides a safe and loving home for children and young people, led and supported by a registered manager.
- Act as a positive role model to give encouragement and praise.
- Enjoy fun days out such as swimming, go karting, skating and revisit missed milestones.
- Provide emotional and physical support to allow the children to reach their full potential in sometimes challenging situations.
- Build friendships and trusting relationships.
- Help them to find pleasure in everyday tasks.
- Empower them to make decisions about themselves.

What do you need?
- We want people who are naturally caring, flexible and resilient.
- Great communication skills, positive and energetic.
- Experience and qualifications in care or transferable skills such as police, education, security or working with vulnerable people.
- Ability to remain calm during sometimes challenging situations.
- Full UK Driving licence is essential.
- You need to be able to work flexibly in caring for the children. This will include working shifts and sleep-ins.
