Purpose of the Role To plan and deliver high-quality, inclusive teaching that meets the diverse needs of pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviours.
About Mynydd Haf School Mynydd Haf School provides high quality learning experiences within a small, focused nurturing environment to secondary school aged children who have an IDP/ALN Statement and have ADHD and/or express behaviours that are challenging or inappropriate in a community setting. Class sizes are small. The staff to student ratio is usually 2:4 in all classes.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, evidence-informed lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils, including those with SEND and trauma histories.
- Use assessment data to monitor pupil progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
- Promote pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development through trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches.
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour and learning, consistent with the school’s behaviour policy and Staff Code of Conduct.
- Collaborate with teaching assistants and specialist staff to provide effective support.
Requirements
- Proven experience teaching pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviour.
- Strong understanding of curriculum, assessment, and behaviour management in special education settings.
- Previous Experience Teaching Maths and/or Science.
- Commitment to professional conduct, safeguarding, and the Staff Code of Conduct.
- Ability to plan, deliver, and assess effective teaching and learning.
- Resilience, empathy, adaptability, and passion for supporting vulnerable pupils.
