Purpose of Role

To plan and deliver high-quality, inclusive teaching that meets the diverse needs of pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviours. The Teacher will model professional integrity and the EPIC values, work collaboratively within the school community, and adhere strictly to the Staff Code of Conduct to promote a safe, respectful, and nurturing learning environment.

At Oaklands Manor, we provide educational placements for pupils who live in the adjoining Keys Group Residential Home. We are committed to each and every one of our pupils and provide specialist support which is individually tailored to meet their unique needs. Set in a picturesque rural location, our school provides a peaceful atmosphere. Recent refurbishment has resulted in spacious, well-equipped classrooms with modern resources. Easy access to outdoor learning enhances the learning experience. We offer small, structured classes for implementing Individual Education and Behaviour Plans. These plans adapt curricula for pupils’ abilities, Key Stages, and needs, leading to nationally recognised accreditation from Entry Level to GCSE.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and teach lessons, working with small groups and individual students from KS3 to KS5
  • Prepare teaching materials, take registers and write reports
  • Help students develop confidence, independence and encourage them to learn
  • Manage behaviour, mark work and talk to parents and carers about their children's progress

Requirements

  • A committed and passionate view of students with SEND
  • At least two years’ experience minimum of working in a SEND environment or similar unit/provision
  • QTS/QTLS is a requirement
