We are seeking an inspirational, Primary-trained teacher to join our dedicated team. You will lead a class of pupils with SEND and autism, designing a learning environment where foundational skills thrive. This role requires a specialist who can blend structured autism pedagogy with creative, thematic learning.
Heckington House School is a small, well-resourced setting where staff work closely to deliver a personalised curriculum for pupils with SEMH. It combines core learning with creative, practical and outdoor experiences, supported by strong facilities and on-site resources. The school takes a non-mainstream approach, focusing on each learner’s holistic development — including wellbeing, behaviour, life skills and preparation for next steps — with additional support from Keys Group’s specialist clinical teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour and learning, consistent with the school’s behaviour policy and Staff Code of Conduct.
- Collaborate with teaching assistants and specialist staff to provide effective support.
- Create and deliver an engaging, thematic primary curriculum tailored to SEND learners.
- Author clear, compliance-ready curriculum plans, IEPs and progress reports.
