The Role
We are looking for a skilled Diesel Mechanic / Fitter to join our workshop team in Bold, St Helens.
The primary focus of this role is the servicing, maintenance, fault-finding and repair of our diesel-powered welding generators and power generation equipment. The successful candidate will also support wider workshop activities as required.

Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair and service diesel generators and power generation equipment.
- Carry out preventative maintenance and inspections.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
- Test, inspect and prepare equipment for rental and sale.
- Complete service records and workshop documentation.
- Support customer requirements both in the workshop and occasionally on-site.
- Assist with stock control and workshop housekeeping.
- Operate forklifts and lifting equipment where authorised.
- Minimum 3 years' experience working on diesel engines, generators, plant or heavy equipment.
- Strong mechanical fault-finding skills.
- Experience servicing power generation equipment.
- Good understanding of electrical systems and diagnostics.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Generator manufacturer training or experience.
- NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
- Field service experience.
