International Investment Bank is seeking a high-performing Vice President – Corporate Credit Risk to join its London-based Credit Risk team covering EMEA transactions and portfolio exposures. The role offers significant exposure to complex corporate and sponsor-backed financings across leveraged finance, infrastructure, acquisition finance, and structured corporate lending. The successful candidate will work closely with Front Office, senior management, and credit committees on high-profile transactions across multiple sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead independent credit analysis and risk assessment of new transactions and existing portfolio exposures
- Review and challenge financing structures, underwriting assumptions, covenant packages, and downside scenarios
- Evaluate leveraged finance, infrastructure finance, acquisition finance, and large corporate lending opportunities
- Prepare and present credit recommendations to senior stakeholders and Credit Committees
- Partner closely with Investment Banking, Leveraged Finance, and Coverage teams throughout deal execution processes
- Monitor portfolio performance, watchlist names, and sector concentration risks
- Conduct stress testing, recovery analysis, and scenario modelling
- Mentor and supervise junior team members including Analysts and Associates
- Contribute to risk framework enhancement and portfolio management initiatives
Requirements
- 6–10 years of relevant experience
- Strong understanding of: cash flow lending, leveraged buyouts, sponsor-backed transactions, covenant analysis, financial modelling, restructuring and recovery dynamics
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing capabilities
- Bachelor’s degree required; CFA or advanced finance qualification preferred
