Our client is a dynamic and fast-growing energy trading firm with a strong footprint in emerging markets. As part of their strategic expansion, we are looking for a highly experienced Senior Commodity Trader with deep expertise in the Oil & Gas sector and a solid track record across African markets.
The Senior Commodity Trader will be responsible for:
- Developing and managing trading strategies.
- Maintaining key relationships.
- Executing physical and/or paper trades in oil and gas products across African markets.
- Identifying and developing trading opportunities in crude oil, refined products, and natural gas within African markets.
- Executing and managing trades to maximize profitability while controlling risk.
- Monitoring market developments, geopolitical factors, and price movements to inform trading strategies.
- Coordinating with logistics, finance, and compliance teams to ensure smooth execution of transactions.
Minimum 10 years of experience in oil and gas commodity trading, with at least 5 years focused on African markets. Deep knowledge of the physical trading lifecycle, including shipping, contracts, pricing, and hedging tools. Proven track record of profitable trading and risk management. Fluent in English; French or Portuguese is a strong advantage.
