You are responsible for carrying out electrical installation, maintenance, and upgrade works within residential properties, including Solar PV systems, ensuring compliance with Warm Homes and SHDF scheme requirements, relevant electrical regulations, and company quality standards. This role is key for delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality energy efficiency and retrofit solutions.
What the role involves:
- Electrical installation and upgrades (wiring, lighting, consumer units, heating systems)
- Install, commission, and maintain Solar PV systems (DC/AC wiring, inverters, isolators, monitoring)
- Ensure compliance with BS 7671, Building Regulations, ECO4 and MCS standards
- Work with retrofit teams integrating PV and low carbon systems (e.g. ASHP)
- Testing and certification including EIC and MCS documentation
- Report defects and maintain safety standards
- Maintain tools and equipment
- Keep accurate job and commissioning records
- Participate in training and continuous improvement
Knowledge & Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- ECS Card
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Solar PV qualification (Level 3 or equivalent)
- Knowledge of grant schemes and retrofit principles
- MCS experience desirable
