Role Overview: We are currently recruiting for an experienced Groundworks Foreman to join a major construction project in Reading. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and delivering all aspects of groundworks and external packages, ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervising and coordinating site teams and subcontractors
- Overseeing all groundworks including drainage, foundations, earthworks, and service installation
- Managing external works including paving, kerbing, slabs, and finishing works
- Ensuring works are completed safely, on time, and to specification
- Organising labour, plant, and materials efficiently
- Reading and working from drawings and setting out information
- Conducting site inductions and toolbox talks
- Ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety requirements
- Liaising with engineers, site managers, and project stakeholders
- Reporting progress and resolving site issues promptly
Requirements:
- CSCS Gold Card – Minimum requirement
- SMSTS – Essential
- First Aid at Work – Desirable
- Temporary Works Co-ordinator Ticket – Desirable
- CAT & Genny – Desirable
- Proven experience in groundworks, drainage, and external works packages
- Strong experience in paving and kerbing installation
- Excellent leadership and organisational skills
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and site plans
