I am currently looking to recruit an experienced Estimator to join a growing carpentry and joinery contractor working across residential and commercial projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in pricing works accurately, managing tender submissions, and supporting the pre-construction process from enquiry through to contract award.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
  • Preparing accurate take-offs and cost estimates for carpentry packages
  • Sending enquiries to suppliers and subcontractors
  • Analysing quotations and negotiating where required
  • Preparing detailed tender submissions and pricing schedules
  • Identifying value engineering opportunities
  • Liaising with clients, contractors, and internal teams throughout the tender process
  • Maintaining estimating records and cost databases
  • Supporting handovers to the operations team upon successful award

Requirements

  • Previous experience as an Estimator within carpentry, joinery, or fit-out sectors
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings and specifications
  • Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines simultaneously
  • Excellent numerical and commercial awareness
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and estimating software
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
