Design Manager - Façade Remediation Location: Leicestershire / Midlands Working Pattern: Hybrid Employment Type: Permanent Salary: £65,000 - £75,000+ negotiable, depending on experience We are looking for an experienced Design Manager to take a lead role across façade remediation, re-cladding and external wall projects. This is a technical design-management position, not a purely drawing-based role. The focus is on coordinating design information, resolving technical issues, supporting regulatory submissions and ensuring surveys, dimensions and design details are properly controlled before procurement and delivery. Direct Building Safety Regulator experience is essential for this role. The Role As Design Manager, you will coordinate façade remediation design and regulatory information across multiple projects. You will work with internal teams, external designers, consultants and site teams to keep design programmes moving and ensure technical issues are properly reviewed, resolved and documented. Key Responsibilities • Coordinate design information across façade remediation and re-cladding projects • Support BSR Gateway submissions and responses to regulator RFIs • Review external wall designs, drawings and technical information • Identify compliance, fire safety and Building Regulations issues • Coordinate internal designers, façade specialists and external consultants • Manage design comments, dependencies, information releases and programme requirements • Attend sites where surveys, as-built information or dimensional checks are required • Help resolve incomplete site information before materials are ordered • Work across multiple projects while keeping design activity aligned with procurement and delivery • Support strong design control, technical coordination and buildability across live projects What We Are Looking For • Direct involvement with the Building Safety Regulator • Experience with BSR Gateway submissions and/or regulator RFIs • Strong façade, re-cladding or external wall project experience • High-rise residential or higher-risk building experience • Ability to review drawings and identify technical or compliance issues • Experience coordinating designers, consultants and technical information • Strong understanding of design control, surveys, dimensions and buildability • Comfortable managing several design programmes at the same time • Strong communication skills with internal teams, consultants and project stakeholders Relevant Experience Experience in any of the following areas would be highly relevant: • Rainscreen systems • Insulation and fire barriers • External wall remediation • Façade compliance and fire safety coordination • Occupied-building or live-site remediation projects • Technical design management within building envelope, remediation or construction What Is On Offer • Salary guide of £65,000 - £75,000+ negotiable • Hybrid working • Bonus potential • Annual leave plus bank holidays • Long-term opportunity within a specialist project environment • Senior role with real technical and design coordination responsibility This role would suit a Design Manager, Technical Design Manager, Façade Design Manager, Senior Design Manager or technically strong façade professional with proven BSR experience.
