Land Surveyor β HS2 (Major Infrastructure Project) Contract Type: Freelance (Long-term) Sector: Civil Engineering / Rail / Infrastructure Start Date: ASAP We are currently recruiting for an experienced Land Surveyor to join a key subcontractor delivering packages of work on HS2 β the UKβs flagship high-speed rail project. This role offers long-term stability on one of the most prestigious and technically challenging infrastructure schemes in Europe. Key Responsibilities: * Carry out precise topographical and as-built surveys across linear and civils-heavy sites * Set out critical infrastructure components including earthworks, drainage, ducting, RC structures, and access roads * Establish and maintain survey control networks across site compounds and work zones * Process raw data using Leica, Trimble, or similar instruments with AutoCAD or N4ce * Produce accurate survey drawings, reports, and handover data to client specifications * Work closely with Engineers, Site Managers, and Design Coordinators to support construction activity * Ensure all work is carried out in line with HS2 project standards, HSEQ policies, and digital data protocols Requirements: * 3+ years\’ experience as a Land or Engineering Surveyor in civils/infrastructure * Proficient with Leica (TS16/20), Trimble, or similar GNSS/robotic systems * Strong understanding of coordinate systems (OSGB36), control networks, and QA documentation * Capable of working independently and as part of a delivery team across live construction environments * Valid CSCS card * Right to work in the UK and full UK driving licence Desirable: * Previous experience working on HS2, Crossrail, highways, or rail infrastructure * Awareness of BIM processes and digital handover requirements * Temporary works familiarity or knowledge of utilities coordination (bonus) Whatβs on Offer: * Long-term contract (12+ months) on a nationally significant infrastructure programme * Competitive day rate with travel expenses where applicable * Opportunity to work on a high-profile, high-spec civils package with career-defining exposure * Supportive, experienced survey team and regular interface with major contractors To Apply: Send your up-to-date CV to be considered.
