An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join a growing in-house building services design team based in Hull.
You will take responsibility for electrical building services designs from initial concept through to detailed design and project completion.
The role will involve producing coordinated, compliant and energy-efficient solutions across a variety of sectors.
This is an office-based position, with occasional travel to project sites when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead electrical building services designs from concept through to completion.
- Produce electrical design calculations using recognised industry software.
- Prepare technical specifications, reports and design documentation.
- Create coordinated electrical drawings using Auto CAD and Revit.
- Design lighting, power, small power, fire alarm and security systems.
- Coordinate designs alongside mechanical and public health services.
- Attend client, design and project meetings.
- Carry out site surveys, condition assessments and technical reports.
- Ensure designs comply with UK Building Regulations, British Standards and client requirements.
- Support sustainable and low-carbon building solutions.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary design and project teams.
About You
The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrical building services design and the confidence to manage multiple projects from concept through to completion.
You will need
- A minimum of three years’ electrical design experience.
- Strong knowledge of electrical building services and HVAC systems.
- Experience producing electrical calculations using industry-standard software.
- Proficiency in Revit and Auto CAD.
- Experience delivering coordinated designs across multiple sectors.
- A good understanding of UK Building Regulations and British Standards.
- Strong communication, organisational and client-facing skills.
- The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- A driving licence is preferred
