We are recruiting for an experienced Highways Site Supervisor to oversee the safe and efficient delivery of highway maintenance works. This is a hands-on supervisory role, responsible for managing site operations, operatives, and supply chain partners while ensuring works are delivered to programme, budget, and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day highway maintenance activities on site
  • Ensure works are delivered in line with contract requirements, specifications, and drawings
  • Plan and programme works, allocating labour, plant, and materials effectively
  • Manage Health & Safety on site, including toolbox talks and compliance checks
  • Control costs and contribute to achieving operational margins
  • Monitor performance against time, cost, safety, and quality targets
  • Manage site vehicles, plant, and equipment
  • Lead, motivate, and develop operatives, including supporting apprentices
  • Record variations, job codes, and changes to works accurately
  • Support emergency response and winter maintenance activities

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience supervising construction or highways maintenance works
  • Background within highways maintenance or relevant civil engineering environment
  • Valid CSCS and NRSWA, with SSSTS or SMSTS
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Commercial awareness with experience controlling costs on site
  • Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Flexible approach to working hours and operational demands
