We’re currently recruiting for a Highways Operative to join a well-established highways contractor operating in the Exeter area. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with hands-on experience in highways maintenance to play a vital role in keeping our roads safe, clean, and functioning year-round.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:
- Carrying out a range of cyclical highways maintenance tasks
- Undertaking drainage cleansing and general highways upkeep
- Ensuring work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to high standards
Essential Skills & Requirements:
- CSCS Card – Valid and in date
- 12D T1/T2 Certification – Essential for working on temporary traffic management schemes
- Category C/Class 2 Driving Licence – Required for operating larger vehicles
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a similar highways maintenance role
- Strong understanding of health & safety protocols in highway environments
