Three Teaching Assistant Level 2 Positions Available at Keyham Lodge School.

Salary: Grade 6 Pay Point 9-10 (Approximate starting salary of £19,535, based on 32.5 hours and £11,721 based on 19.5 hours) *Pending Support Salary Uplift Pending*

Working Weeks: 39 weeks per year. (This includes term time of 38 weeks plus one week including INSET days)

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Hours: Two 32.5 hour contracts and one contract with 19.5 hours per week.

Working Pattern: Two 32.5 hours contracts with a working arrangement of Monday 08:30-16:15, Tuesday & Wednesday 08:30-15:30, Thursday 08:30-15:15 and Friday 08:30-15:00. One contract with 19.5 hours per week, with some degree of flexibility in the working arrangement for the right candidate.

About the Role: Keyham Lodge School are looking for three caring, experienced and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants (Level 2) to work alongside the class teacher to support learning in class and run interventions, to join our team and be a proactive integrated member of the School Staff Team. As part of your role you will, under the direction of a teacher, support in the learning process and utilise your skills to assist the teacher to create an educational environment in which a pupil's all-round development is achieved.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To assist with the planning, delivery and evaluation of whole class learning activities, including identifying how the pupils can best be supported.
  • To work under the supervision of a teacher to plan, deliver and evaluate learning activities for small groups or individual pupils, providing feedback on pupil engagement and their achievement of the desired learning objectives.
  • To help prepare, monitor and maintain a safe and secure learning environment in line with the teacher’s lesson plans.
  • To promote the development of pupil's self‑reliance, self‑esteem and emotional resilience.

Qualifications:

  • NVQ 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent OR Able to demonstrate the ability to meet the STL Level 3 National Occupational Standards relevant to this post.
  • Level 2 qualifications in maths/numeracy and English/literacy OR Able to demonstrate competency in literacy and numeracy equivalent to level 2.

Experience: Experience of supporting teaching and learning in a formal setting.
