We’re looking for a Product Safety Manager to own product safety and compliance across Keycraft’s global markets. This role ensures our products are safe, compliant and ready for sale in the UK, EU and USA, working closely with internal teams, suppliers and external partners. You’ll play a key role in managing risk across the product lifecycle while protecting consumers and the Keycraft brand.
Your aim will be to ensure that all products are safe, compliant and fit for purpose. Working within QA and reporting to our QA & Toy Safety Manager, your main responsibilities will be:
- Take full ownership of product safety and compliance across key markets, including UK, EU and USA regulations and labelling requirements.
- Lead product safety risk management, including hazard analysis, recall readiness and CAPA processes.
- Monitor regulatory changes and clearly translate requirements into practical business guidance.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical files, certifications and Declarations of Conformity.
- Approve, onboard and manage suppliers from a product safety and compliance perspective.
- Work closely with factories and third-party test houses to ensure products are tested, certified and fit for purpose.
- Set clear quality and safety expectations to support continuous supplier improvement.
- Conduct product risk assessments and proactively identify potential safety issues.
- Investigate product failures, complaints and safety concerns, supporting product withdrawals or recalls where required.
- Act as the lead technical interface for internal teams, key retail customers and regulatory bodies, while supporting product development from early design stages.
You’ll be supported by a team of great people, and will be collaborating with our Supply Chain department, the Product Development team, customer service and our IT/Systems department, many of which are located in our offices around the world.

A Bit About You:
- Proven experience in a product safety, quality or compliance role within toys, consumer products or a similarly regulated industry.
- Working knowledge of UK, EU and USA toy safety regulations and compliance requirements.
- Experience working with suppliers and third-party testing laboratories; exposure to Far East manufacturing is a plus.
- Highly organised and analytical, with confidence managing technical documentation, product data and QA systems.
- Clear and confident communicator, able to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
- Detail-driven, calm under pressure and pragmatic in your approach, with the confidence to balance safety, compliance and commercial needs while aligning with Keycraft’s values.
You will be based remotely, working from anywhere in the UK with quarterly trips to our HQ in Peterhead.
