We specialize in helping students with special educational needs (SEN) achieve their full potential, and we are currently seeking compassionate and dedicated Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistants (SEN TAs) to join our team. Job Description: As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other staff members to provide tailored support to students with a variety of special educational needs. You will play a key role in helping to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment that meets the individual needs of each student. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to supporting students\’ academic, social, and emotional development. Key Responsibilities: * Support students with special educational needs, both in the classroom and in one-to-one settings, ensuring their inclusion in all school activities. * Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support the achievement of learning goals. * Provide personalized learning support, adapting teaching materials and resources to meet the specific needs of students. * Help students with various tasks, including academic work, social skills, and self-care. * Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers, parents, and other staff members. * Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to create strategies that support students’ learning and well-being. * Maintain a safe and respectful classroom environment conducive to learning. * Assist with the management of student behavior, using appropriate strategies to promote positive behavior. * Attend meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities as required. * Promote independence in students and help them build confidence and self-esteem. Requirements: * A passion for working with students with special educational needs. * Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN (desirable but not essential). * A relevant qualification, such as a Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or 3) or equivalent, is preferred. * A good understanding of SEN, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), dyslexia, ADHD, and other learning difficulties. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents. * Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. * Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. * An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures. * A flexible and adaptable attitude to working with a diverse group of students. Desirable Skills: * Experience supporting students with specific learning needs or disabilities. * Knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies. * Familiarity with assistive technologies and learning tools. * Ability to contribute to the development of IEPs and individualized support plans.
