Role Purpose

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Curriculum Co-ordinator to lead curriculum planning, sequencing, assessment and quality assurance within a specialist education setting. The successful candidate will ensure learners with SEND, SEMH, autism and additional needs access a meaningful, personalised and compliant curriculum that supports both academic progress and preparation for adulthood. This role is ideal for a QTS teacher, phase lead, subject lead or curriculum lead with strong SEND/AP experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain schemes of work, curriculum maps and assessment frameworks.
  • Support teachers with lesson planning, differentiation and learner progress evidence.
  • Monitor curriculum quality, moderation and learner outcomes.
  • Align curriculum with EHCP outcomes, literacy, numeracy and life skills.
  • Work collaboratively with inclusion, therapy, safeguarding and leadership teams.
  • Support Ofsted readiness, quality assurance and staff development.

Requirements

  • QTS strongly preferred.
  • Experience as Curriculum Lead, Phase Lead, Subject Lead or middle leader.
  • Strong understanding of SEND, SEMH, AP and alternative curriculum models.
  • Experience adapting curriculum for learners with additional needs.
  • Strong organisation, coaching and leadership skills.
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain).
